A word on the 4 niches I focus on

My implementation for coaching comes from the intersection of 2 questions. What is life and what is coaching? For me, “What is life” means asking: what am I doing here, who am I in this ecosystem, do I have purpose or, quite frankly, a reason for existing? I refer to this as the Philosophy of the Tree of Life. Coaching means my ability to help you achieve your purpose by navigating your own path and thinking about the choices and processes behind them. Coaching relies, at least in my view, in knowing how to teach by listening, and using my own life experiences to help understand yours. Why do I feel this to be a great approach? Simply…acquiring wisdom! As Socrates phrased it, a life unexamined is not worth living? So how does my approach through philosophy help in these  four areas?

1. Health & wellness: understanding that our bodies were designed for good food, exercise, and sleep. Our mental wellbeing, as part of my concept of innergetics (a play on the words inner self and explosives energetics), allows us to ‘detonate’ your potential.

2. Self awareness: focusing on what we consider being happy means and the pursuit towards it; such as hobbies, jobs, concepts of a higher power, education, etc.. This is where I apply the philosophical tenets of “existentialism” which is really a secular interpretation of knowing what life is supposed to have been in spite of our best attempts of self sabotage. We can leverage your skills and experiences into future achievements!

3. Military/prior service members: Are you looking for change? Has your azimuth changed and you’ve lost direction? I spent 20 years in the Army and held 3 separate occupational specialties. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to “be” but I knew the military offered me structure and discipline. How do we regain that in a civilian setting?

4. Christianity/Spirituality. I believe in Christian teaching and believe that our existence comes from the “breath of life” that God breathed into man, and with that, all the knowledge and wisdom that God intended us to have. Our goal, then, is to find your way back to the intended purpose. This does not mean my goal is to make you a Christian, it’s simply using universal truths to understand life.
